Step 1: Pre-Inspection Our technician will walk through your home with you to visually inspect the carpet. He will identify potential permanent stains and give you an evaluation of expected results. Step 2: Pre-Spray A preconditioning agent is applied to break down traffic area soil and general spots to encourage a more thorough cleaning. Step 3: Pre-Spot Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions to improve the likelihood of removal. Step 4: Pre-Groom The carpet is then groomed to further loosen the soil. Step 5: Soil Extraction and Rinse The carpet is thoroughly rinsed with a powerful extraction cleaning system without overwetting or leaving a sticky residue. Step 6: Neutralizer Every carpet that we clean is pH balanced so that there is no sticky residue left behind. This leaves your carpet soft and fresh. Step 7: Post-Spot Any remaining spots will be treated with special stain removal products. Step 8: Post-Groom Your carpet is groomed with a professional groomer so that the pile of your carpet is standing tall when we leave. Post-grooming helps the carpet pile dry faster and in the right position. Some area rugs can be cleaned in your home. They will be cleaned according to our extensive carpet cleaning procedures. Some rugs, however, should not be cleaned on location due to inherent cleaning dynamics and certain soiling conditions. Your rug will be cleaned according to the following important steps: Step 1: Pre-Inspection We will determine as much as we possibly can about the type of rug and any qualities that may affect cleaning effectiveness. We will outline the cleaning "prescription" and the expected results. Step 2: Dry Soil Removal Woven rugs, especially hand-knotted rugs are designed to hide dry soil. A few years ago the Eureka company did a study and found that a 9' x 12' rug could hide 85 lbs of dirt! Wow! We have a uniquely designed 'rug beater' that gently and safely extracts the loose dirt from a rug without harming or damaging it. This is the most important step in cleaning any textile and is unique to Expert Cleaning Services. Step 3: Pre-Conditioning Depending on fibre content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils. Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase the chance of removal. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal. Step 5: Soil Extraction and Rinse The rug is then thoroughly rinsed with a powerful extraction cleaning sytem without overwetting or leaving a sticky residue behind. Step 6: Drying Once the soil is rinsed away the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. Proper drying is essential to avoid unnatural shrinkage. Step 7: Finishing When the rug is dry it is combed and finished with soft custom-made groomers. Step 8: Post-Inspection Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pick-up or delivery. |
